This record was produced in Houston, Texas on March 17th 1925 featuring Lloyd Finlay violin & director, Seger Ellis piano, with unknown cornets, trombone, clarinets, saxophones, banjo, bass brass, & drums.

*"Mysterious Blues" aka "Castle House Rag" was composed by Jim Europe, as arranged by Lloyd Finlay.

Beginning his music career in the early '20's with live broadcasts for local radio in Houston, Segar Ellis was invited to join the "Lloyd Finlay Orchestra" on a field trip to record for Victor in 1925. The twenty-one year old pianist traveled to Camden, New Jersey with Finlay and the band in March of that year where together they produced seven sides at three separate sessions between the 17th and 19th.
