Feat. Al Bowlly

Recorded in Berlin, Germany on January 18th 1928 featuring Al Bowlly vocals, Arthur Briggs trumpet, John Abriani alto sax, Helmut Wernicke piano, with unknown reeds, banjo, & drums.

*"My Regular Gal" was composed by Bud Green and Harry Warren.

Italian jazz bandleader John Abriani performed regular gigs across Europe throughout the 1920's. A saxophonist who also doubled on violin, he later courageously took his group to Calcutta where they held down a steady engagement for two years in the early '30's.

At the start of the record Al Bowlly takes on the roll of announcer borrowing the persona of the Italian bandleader: "Hello everybody. Abriani speaking. We thank you for your kind attention".
