Feat. Andy Sannella

Recorded in New York City during November of 1929 featuring Mike Mosiello trumpet, Charlie Butterfield or Tommy Dorsey trombone, Andy Sannella alto sax, Porter Grainger and Frank Banta piano, Charlie Magnante accordion, John Cali tenor guitar, Al Duffy violin, and George Hamilton Green drums.

The Grey Gull studio band also recorded as the "Levee Syncopators" and the "Synco Jazzers".

VERY interesting side to me, as I am a "connoisseur" of the Grey Gull House Band. This one is unusual, because you can hear the spacious acoustics in the studio. George Hamilton Green was a great exuberant drummer! You seldom ever get to hear him away from the xylophone. I am SURE the trombonist is Tommy Dorsey, it sounds exactly like him at any rate. The piano duet is awfully hot. A great kaleidoscopic record with something new happening at every turn. -Brad Kay
