Feat. Robert H. Cloud

Recorded in Savannah, Georgia on August 22nd 1927 with Melvin Herbert and Robert Mason trumpets, Eddie Cooper trombone, Edmond Hall clarinet, Robert Cloud alto sax, Earl Evans tenor sax, Alonzo Ross piano & leader, Casper Tower banjo, Richard Fulbright tuba, and Frank Houston drums & vocals.

*"Florida Rhythm" was composed by Robert H. Cloud.

Far more than your average ordinary reed-man, Robert Cloud was also a prolific yet obscure composer and arranger who authored all but two of the eight sides in total recorded by Alonzo Ross' Miami based band the "Ross De Luxe Syncopators". In addition he also provided all the songs that were recorded by Sugar Underwood and the "Jacksonville Harmony Trio" the following day. Cloud would later record on both alto and tenor, and piano as a member of the "Georgia Jumpers", the "Q R S Boys", and the "Grand Central Red Cap Quartet".
