This record was produced in Chicago on May 16th 1928 by "Jimmie Noone's Apex Club Orchestra" featuring Jimmie Noone clarinet, Joe Poston alto sax, Earl Hines piano, Budd Scott banjo, and Johnny Wells drums.

*"I Know That You Know" was written by Vicent Youmans.

Jimmie Noone studied clarinet in New Orleans with Lorenzo Tio and a young Sidney Bechet. His professional career began in 1912 with Kid Ory, Papa Celestin, and the "Eagle Band." He moved to Chicago in 1917 and was a member of the Original Creole Orchestra before joining "King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band" the following year. In 1926 he started leading the house band at the notorious mafia owned Apex Club.
