Sissle & Blake

Comprised of vocalist Noble Sissle and pianist Eubie Blake this pair of entertainers began performing together in vaudeville as the "Dixie Duo" following World War I. They are best known for writing the Broadway hit "Shuffle Along". It was the first all black musical and opened in June 1921.
