Feat. Mary Lou Williams

Recorded for Paramount in Chicago during January 1927 featuring Jeanette James vocals, Henry McCord trumpet, Bradley Bullett trombone, John Williams alto & bass sax, Mary Lou Burleigh piano, Joe Williams banjo, and Robert Price drums.

*"What's That Thing?" was composed by W. Benton Overstreet.

This was Mary Lou Williams' first recording session, releases from which bill her under the pseudonym Mary Lou Burleigh, (not her maiden name Scruggs). The band is actually her future husband's group John Williams' "Synco Jazzers." They would record a month later, minus the singer.
