This footage featuring "Whistler's Jug Band" was filmed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1930 featuring Buford Threlkeld (aka "Whistler") guitar & vocal, Willie Black banjo & vocals, and B D Tite and Rudolph Thompson jugs.
-(The identity of the additional jug player remains unknown.)

Lloyd Buford Threlkeld was a guitarist and a singer, born in Eminence, Kentucky on April 18th 1893. He moved to Louisville in 1915 and began playing the nose flute, forming a jug band under his stage name "Whistler". His jug band become the first recorded, producing at least twenty-one sides between 1924 and 1931.
