"Dodds' Final Record"

Recorded in Chicago on June 5th 1940 featuring Natty Dominique cornet, Preston Jackson trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Richard M Jones piano, Lonnie Johnson guitar, John Lindsey bass, and Baby Dodds drums.

*"Gravier Street Blues" was composed by Clarence Williams.

Johnny Dodds did not record for most of the 1930's, due to his ill health. Sadly, this recording and it's flip side "Red Onion Blues" were the tunes contained on his very last record. He died from heart failure two months later on August 8th 1940 at the age of 48.
