This recording was made in New York City in October of 1923 with the following personnel: Rosetta Crawford vocals, Sidney Bechet clarinet & soprano sax, Clarence Williams piano, and Buddy Christian banjo.

*"Down on the Levee Blues" was composed by Stanley Miller.

Rosetta Crawford was an African American Blues singer about whom little is known. She made some records between 1923 and 1926 and had a short comeback in 1939. This was one of Sidney Bechet's first records. The session was produced by fellow New Orleans jazz man Clarence Williams.
