Recorded in New York City during November 1918 featuring Frank Christian cornet, Frank Lhotak trombone, Achille Baquet clarinet, Jimmy Durante piano, and Johnny Stein drums.

*"Ja Da" was composed by Bob Carlton, with lyrics by Grant Clark and George Meyer.

This record introduces "You'll Find Old Dixieland In France" as an incidental chorus.

The "Original New Orleans Jazz Band" band was one of the first imitators of the "Original Dixieland Jazz Band". It was organized by drummer Johnny Stein after his group "Stein's Dixie Jass Band" broke up and reassembled as, his greatest competitor, the O.D.J.B.

Clarinetist Achille Baquet was an African-American who passed for White and played for mainly White bands in New Orleans, including Papa Jack Laine's famous "Relaince Orchestra".
