Jelly's Original Jazz

Recorded at the Webster Hotel in Chicago on December 16th 1926 featuring George Mitchell cornet, Kid Ory trombone, Omer Simeon clarinet, Jelly Roll Morton piano, Johnny St Cyr banjo, John Lindsay bass, and Andrew Hilaire drums.

*"Original Jelly Roll Blues" was composed by Ferdinand 'Jelly Roll' Morton.

Jelly's first title for this tune was "Chicago Blues" but the people of that city praised the number
for its originality and began referring to it as the "Original Jelly Roll Blues" in his honor.

The new title stuck and so it would come to be known.
