This side was recorded in New York City on May 7th 1921 featuring Mary Stafford vocals, accompanied by Charlie Gaines cornet, Earl Granstaff trombone, Ben Whittet clarinet, Nelson Kincaid alto sax, Charlie Johnson piano, George Breen violin, and unknown banjo & bass brass.

After making history as the first African American Woman to record for Columbia Records in January 1921 cabaret singer Mary Stafford toured extensively and appeared at the Lafayette Theater in New York City. Among her fourteen sides cut between 1921 and 1926 were some of the most popular songs of they day. Mary was cast in "Rocking Chair Revue" (1931) and "Dear Old Southland" (1932) before retiring from show business and moving to Atlantic City later that year.
