The "Blue Horizon Jazz Band" perform at the Sherborn Public Library in Sherborn, Massachusetts on July 13th 2016 featuring Phil Person trumpet, John Kafalas trombone, Stan McDonald soprano sax & leader, Ross Petot piano, Jack Soref guitar, Dave Didriksen drums.

*"Strike Up the Band" was composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics written by Ira Gershwin.

The song was originally produced as the theme for the Gershwin Brother's 1927 musical of the same name.

Although the show was not a success the instrumental version of the title song often referred to as the "March from Strike Up the Band" has become a popular standard.

Stan McDonald heads his "Blue Horizon Jazz Band" for a beautiful rendition of this popular march during an annual outdoor concert event at the local Public Library near his home in Sherborn, Massachusetts.
