with Annette

In a 1972 telephone interview conducted by Jack Cullen 1920's singing sensation Annette Hanshaw sets the record straight about her days at the top of the New York jazz scene.

In the second installment of Annette's 1972 telephone interview with Jack Cullen, the star finishes listening to one of her popular 1920's recordings "Mean to Me" provided by host Jack Cullen. Some forty years since her super-stardom Annette discusses the sudden resurgence of interest in her music amongst young people. The 1920's singing sensation reminisces about the release of her first record and her extreme dislike for them and the recording process. Annette also speaks of her husband Herman "Wally" Rose and her retirement from show business in the early 1930's.

Before hanging up Annette reveals some of the aspects of her present life following the death of her husband in 1954. She seems to be keeping busy as her days are filled with charity work at St. Agnus Church in mid-town Manhattan. Although she never had children Annette expresses a deep happiness with her life and the way everything turned out.
