This side was recorded in Chicago on July 2nd 1928 with Punch Miller cornet, Charles Lawson trombone, Charles Johnson clarinet & alto sax, Tiny Parham piano, Charlie Jackson banjo, Quinn Wilson string bass, and Ernie Marrero drums.

*"The Head Hunter's Dream (An African Fantasy)" was composed by Tiny Parham.

In the years leading up to his move to Chicago in 1926, Tiny Parham lived in Kansas City where he was employed at the new Eblon Theater. Parham would also have the good fortune to be mentored during this period by the famous ragtime pianist and composer James Scott.
