Feat. Roy Palmer

Recorded in Richmond, Indiana on March 19th 1931 featuring Roy Palmer trombone, Darnell Howard clarinet & alto sax, Jimmy Blythe piano, Ed 'Fats' Hudson banjo & speech, and Alfred Bell kazoo & washboard.

*"Sic Em' Tige'" was composed by Roy Palmer.

In this trumpet lacking skiffle assembly under the direction of Jimmy Blythe, Roy Palmer's trombone takes on an innovative role as secondary horn in addition to its traditional application. Alfred Bell does a splendid job on kazoo so much so the listener may well forget that it isn't a horn at all. Further enhancing the performance Darnell Howard knits a flowery arrangement of notes right down the middle. -Matt Chauvin
