This performance was filmed in Chicago in 1968 for the educational television program "Jazz Alley" hosted by pianist Art Hodes with New Orleans trombone legend George Brunies, and featuring Nappy Trottier trumpet, Jimmy Grenato clarinet, Truck Parham bass, and Monte Mountjoy drums.

*"Farewell Blues" was written by Paul Mares, Leon Roppolo, and Elmer Schoebel in 1922 and first recorded that year by their band the "New Orleans Rhythm Kings."
