Recorded in Chicago on November 3rd 1934 featuring "Papa" Charlie Jackson six-string banjo & vocals.

*"Skoodle Um Skoo" was written by Charles Jackson.

Included here for its sound clarity this later 1934 version recorded for the Okeh label containing "Papa" Charlie Jackson's big July 1927 hit "Skoodle Um Skoo" stands as an exemplary testament to his storied legend and legacy.

Originally from New Orleans, "Papa" Charlie Jackson was songster who accompanied himself variously on a six-string banjo, guitar, or ukulele. He migrated to Chicago sometime before 1920 and played frequent club dates there during the '20's and '30's. To this day many aspects of "Papa" Charlie's life remain a mystery; he died in Chicago in 1938.
