*"The Duck's Yas Yas Yas" was written by James 'Stump' Johnson.

According to his recording companions for a solitary Paramount session in Grafton, Wisconsin thought to have been held in early September 1930 Oliver Cobb drowned in Lake Michigan a short time later. However this story is in direct conflict with an article published in the St. Louis Argus on January 2nd 1931 under the headline "Brunswick Recording Orchestra Re-organized" which stated "due to illness Oliver Cobb former leader of the "Brunswick Recording Orchestra" has resigned and a permanent organization has been formed". It would seem that either Townsend was repeating a rumor or had fabricated the entire tale. The article went on to name "Ed Johnson, pianist and arranger" as the new leader and reported that the band name had been changed to the "Crackerjacks". No matter the cause Oliver Cobb died no later than 1931.
