Guitarist Eddie Lang's link to the blues tradition is evident from the very first note of his single string solo. A modern touch is added with a chromatic chord progression briefly strummed across two bars from the tonic C7, up to F7. Rapid chord sequences of the like were common place in Lang’s work.
