Singapore Slingers Play
The Goofus Five

Filmed at the Kessler Theater in Dallas, Texas on February 19th 2011 featuring Matt Tolentino vocal, baritone sax, & director, Frank Reed trumpet, Johnny Dailey trombone, Dave Washburn clarinet, Cassie Conway, Blaise Parker, and Jesus Bermeo clarinet & sax, Brittany Oswald, Kevin Yu, and Jim Herrera violin, Cynthia Dashiell viola, Gretchen Nichols cello, Robert Edwards piano, George Gagliardi banjo, Charlie Horwitz string bass, Tim Hicks tuba, and Michael Plotkin drums.

The "Singapore Slingers" have been under Matt Tolentino's direction since late 2007 and have proven to be the only group of their kind in Dallas, or even Texas. The eighteen member ensemble are a leading source for pre-swing American dance music and popular song, 1895 - 1935. They maintain complete authenticity to the period in arrangements, attire, and even many of their instruments.
