Feat. Lil Hardin-Armstrong

Recorded in Chicago on February 26th 1926 featuring Louis Armstrong cornet, Kid Ory trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Lil Hardin Armstrong piano, and Johnny St. Cyr banjo.

*"Cornet Chop Suey" was composed by Louis Armstrong.

Produced at Louis Armstrong's second session under his own name this side features the New Orleans jazz master in top form delivering a hot unparalleled performance.

Although it is a common belief that Armstrong made a permanent transition to trumpet during his time in New York with Fletcher Henderson in 1924 and '25, he didn't give up cornet completely until 1928.
