Recorded in New York City on October 7th 1924 featuring Lee Morse vocals & guitar.

*"Bring Back Those Rock-A-Bye baby Days" was composed by Abner Silver, with lyrics by Harold Christy.

From her first batch of recorded sides produced in 1924, Lee Morse conjures a deep-hearted longing for those 'days of yore' when the world was draped in youthful innocence and splendor.

This song is particularly heart wrenching delivered in her rural yodeled style.

Here is a very early example of wordless vocalizing, maybe not "scat" as Louis Armstrong would have done it, but a whole chorus of embellished melody. At this early date, this stands (with Lena Wilson's "Chirping the Blues") as one of the first recorded examples of this style. Miss Morse sounds like a definite precursor to Annette Hanshaw and Ruth Etting as well. -Dan Weinstein
