Recorded in Chicago on October 25th 1923 with Joe "King" Oliver cornet & leader, Louis Armstrong second cornet & slide whistle, Honore Dutrey trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Stump Evans c-melody sax, Lil Hardin Armstrong piano, Johnny St Cyr guitar & banjo, Charlie Jackson bass sax, and Baby Dodds drums.

*"Buddy's Habit" was composed by Arnett Nelson.

Legendary cornetist Louis Armstrong makes his presence more evident than ever in the "King Oliver Band" by doubling on slide whistle for this historic recording. This side and others featuring Armstrong's slide whistle are particularly favored and many jazz critics have since come to marvel at his exceptional execution.
