This side was recorded in Memphis, Tennessee on September 20th 1928 with Gus Cannon banjo & jug, Ashley Thompson guitar, Noah Lewis harmonica & jug, and Hosea Woods kazoo.

"Cannon's Jug Stompers" led by Gus Cannon were a group of semi-professional Memphis street musicians who got the opportunity to record when Victor Records sent a mobile unit to the city. The expedition was spawned by the success of the "Memphis Jug Band", and the label's hopes of recording and cashing in on a similar group.
