Feat. Johnny Dodds

Recorded in Chicago during August of 1926 featuring Shirley Clay cornet, Albert Wynn trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Lovie Austin piano & leader, and Eustern Woodfork banjo.

*"Galion Stomp" was composed by Lovie Austin.

This tune most likely derives its name from a city located in central Ohio.

Eustern (or Eusten) Woodfork was a banjoist active on the Chicago jazz scene in the 1920's and '30's. Aside from his recorded work with Lovie Austin, he would also appear on sides produced by Johnny Dodds, Tommy Ladnier and later Junie Cobb. Eustern was a member of drummer Harry Dial's "Bluesicians" during the early 1930's before he disappeared completely into obscurity.
