"The Dick Cavett Show"

Jazz violin wizard Joe Venuti gives a timeless performance of "How High the Moon" during his 1977 appearance on "The Dick Cavett Show", backed by Rio Clemente piano, Milt Hinton bass, and Bob Rosengarden drums.

After a long period of musical inactivity Joe Venuti dusted off his fiddle and rosined his bow to begin performing again in the late 60's. In 1967 he played Dick Gibson's Colorado Jazz Party an engagement he would be invited to return to every year until his 1978 death. The 1970's brought rejuvenation to Venuti's career, he toured extensively in Europe and made a number of TV appearances.
