A professional clarinetist since the age of twelve, from 1922 until 1925 following his time with the "Original Memphis Five" Jimmy Lytell recorded and performed as a side-man with various assemblies as well as making a string of his own high quality recordings. By the late '20's Jimmy could often be found working with large commercial orchestras as a staff member of NBC radio.
