This recording was made in Chicago during June of 1923 with Tommy Ladnier cornet, Roy Palmer trombone, Wilson Townes clarinet, Arville Harris alto sax, Jelly Roll Morton piano, and Jasper Taylor woodblocks.

*"Big Fat Ham" was composed by Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton.

This was on the A side of Jelly Roll Morton's very first record (Paramount 12050).

The B side of this release contained "Muddy Water Blues", another seldom heard Morton original.
