Hoagy Carmichael was featured as the guest pianist and leader of "Curtis Hitch's Happy Harmonists" for a couple of his own tunes "Washboard Blues" and "Boneyard Shuffle" captured at a recording session on May 19th 1925. Complete with an impressive improvised solo the group's recording of "Washboard Blues" is particularly good and the session would mark Hoagy's earliest appearance on record performing his original musical works with a band. This composition's debut on record was produced on this date.
