Irving 'Babe' Russin worked with the Dorsey Brothers, Benny Goodman, and Glenn Miller throughout the 1930's and '40's. The brother of pianist Jack Russin he was renowned for a warm rich tone inspired by Coleman Hawkins and found a great demand for his tenor saxophone at recording sessions and live performances alike.
