'Papa' Charlie Jackson

Papa Charlie Jackson was songster originally from New Orleans, who accompanied himself variously with a six-string banjo, guitar, or a ukulele. He migrated to Chicago sometime before 1920 and played frequent club dates there during the 20's and 30's. Much of his life remains a mystery, he died in Chicago in 1938.
