Feat. Bill Wirges

This instrumental version of the song "Collette" was recorded in New York City on March 2nd 1927 featuring Harry Reser banjo, accompanied by Bill Wirges piano.

The most accomplished banjo player of the 1920s and perhaps the greatest banjoist of all time Harry Reser started performing in dance bands in Ohio, his home state. In 1920 he moved to Buffalo and in 1921 to the New York City where he established himself as a session musician. That year he began to record a series of banjo solos unequivocally proving the banjo's capabilities beyond that of a rhythm instrument.
