This recording was made in New York City during November 1923 with Elmer Chambers, Howard Scott, and Joe Smith trumpets, Teddy Nixon trombone, Coleman Hawkins tenor & bass sax, Allie Ross clarinet, alto sax, & violin, Don Redman clarinet & alto sax, Fletcher Henderson piano & leader, Charlie Dixon banjo, Ralph Escudero tuba, and Kaiser Marshall drums.

Fletcher Henderson and his Orchestra played at the "Club Alabam" in New York on West 44th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues for about six months between November 1923 and May 1924. -This establishment is not to be confused with a club of the same name which opened in Los Angles in 1931.
