This Josephine Baker dance clip is taken from the French film "Princess Tam Tam" released in 1935.

In this scene Lucie (Germaine Aussey) the wife of a frustrated writer attempts to publicly humiliate her husband Max and Alwina (Josephine Baker) a Tunisian girl whom he has taught social educate and presents as a princess. Plying the 'princess' with alcohol Lucie's plan nearly works when Alwina, unable to resist exotic music, joins a large staged dance number embarrassing Max. However, when the music stops he soon realizes that the entire audience is applauding to provide her a standing ovation.
