Recorded in New York City on September 20th 1929 featuring Fess Williams clarinet & alto sax, George Temple and John Brown trumpets, David "Jelly" James trombone, Lockwood Lewis alto sax, Felix Gregory clarinet, alto, & tenor sax, Perry Smith clarinet & tenor sax, Henry Duncan piano, Andy Pendleton banjo, Emanuel Casamore bass, and Ralph Bedell drums.

*"Musical Campmeeting" was composed by Stanley "Fess" Williams.

With the spirit of an old Southern Church Revival acting Minister Fess Williams lets his reed work do the preaching creating one truly spectacular performance.

Other highlights of this record include Williams' ultra-tight band and the use of the late 1920's trend "pyramid chords" by Temple, James and Brown.
