Feat. Jules Levy Jr.

This side was recorded in New York City during April 1923 featuring Jules Levy Jr. and Hymie Faberman trumpets, Ephraim Hannaford trombone, with unknown alto sax, tenor sax, piano, banjo, & drums.

*"Papa Blues" was composed by Max Kortlander.

In 1922 the first group to use the name "Dixie Daisies", led by Jules Levy Jr., were similar to the "Memphis Five" and maintained the same lineup through 1925. Following Cameo's merger with Pathe Records in 1926 tracing the identity of groups billed under the name becomes far more complex.

The son of English born horn player Jules Levy, Jules Levy Jr. was also an accomplished cornetist and trumpeter who made records often with groups under the direction of Joseph Samuels between 1919 and 1932.
