This side was cut in Chicago on December 5th 1928 featuring Louis Armstrong trumpet & vocals, Fred Robinson trombone, Jimmy Strong clarinet, Don Redman alto sax, Earl Hines piano, Mancy Cara banjo, and Arthur "Zutty" Singleton drums.

*"Save It Pretty Mama For Me" was composed by Don Redman, Joe Davis, and Paul Dennicker.

Despite being billed as the "Savoy Ballroom Five" this group had seven members counting Armstrong and was likened to a modified version of his "Hot Six" or "Hot Seven" bands featuring special guest Don Redman.
