This side was recorded in New York City by the Hal Kemp Orchestra on April 20th 1928 featuring Hal Kemp clarinet alto sax & director, Bob Mayhew and Earl Geiger trumpets, Wendell "Gus" Mayhew trombone, Jack Mayhew clarinet & alto sax, Ben Williams clarinet, alto, & baritone sax, Saxie Dowell clarinet & tenor sax, Bromo Sulser violin, John Scott Trotter piano & arranger, Olly Humphries banjo, Jim Mullen bass brass, and Skinnay Ennis drums & vocals.

*"Loveable" was composed by Richard Whiting, with lyrics by Seymour Simons and Ralph Holmes.

Hal Kemp discovered drummer Skinnay Ennis while both were attending the University of North Carolina in 1927. He left school with Kemp a short time later to form a professional Jazz band. With Kemp's encouragement Ennis blossomed into a sweet voiced singer well suited to the band. He became very popular with female audiences and was soon the groups biggest star.
