Dan Vernhettes

Born in Paris, France on May 20th 1942, Daniel Vernhettes is a self taught trumpeter and jazz scholar who has been playing traditional jazz and spirituals since the late 1950's. His first major influence Joe King Oliver brought about the 1966 formation of his "Jazz O' Maniacs". Daniel would later develop an increasing devotion to the music of swing era stylists. He has since formed a number of other groups including "Swing Feeling" and become interested even more so in the origins of New Orleans jazz. He is also currently an author of world-renowned for his recent best selling publications "Jazz Puzzles" Part One and "Jazz Puzzles" Part Two co-written with Bo Lindström.
