This Vocalion release contains one of Jelly's lesser known solo recordings of a number dedicated
to a Southern dietary staple.

The undisputed King of New Orleans jazz pianists provides refreshing variations to this 1920's
piano tune facilitated through his trademark style.

Indicative of genius, his music never fails to entertain.

Attributed at different times to both Jelly Roll Morton on this 1926 release and Jimmy Blythe for his earlier recording on the Paramount label this number is actually credited to Aletha Dickerson and John Bishaw. Aletha was the secretary of Chicago based Paramount Records director J. Mayo Williams and married Jimmy Blythe's associate Alex Robinson becoming Aletha Robinson in 1926. Among her duties for Williams were to deposit new tunes for copyright registration with the Library of Congress and this is likely how she and Bishaw ended up with the composer's credit for this Jimmy Blythe composition.
