This recording was produced in New York City on September 18th 1928 by "Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra" featuring Paul Whiteman director, Jack Fulton trombone & vocals, Charles Margulis, Harry Goldfield, and Eddie Pinder trumpets, Bix Beiderbecke cornet, Boyce Cullen, Wilbur Hall, and Bill Rank trombone, Frank Trumbauer c-melody sax, Chester Hazlett, Irving Friedman, Roy Maier, and Charles Strickfaden reeds, Kurt Dieterle, Matty Malneck, Mischa Russell, Mario Perry, Charles Gaylord and John Bouman violin, Roy Bargy piano, Lennie Hayton celeste, Mike Pingitore banjo, Mike Trafficante string bass, Min Leibrook tuba, and George Marsh drums.

*"Sweet Sue, Just You" was composed by Victor Young, with lyrics by Will J. Harris.

That same year it would become a popular standard played hot by many bands often devoid of lyrics. Without Bix this recording of the song may have never gained the immense popularity it did.
